Dec 29, 2025 - FASSelangor FC secured all three points in the 2025/26 Super League after defeating Melaka FC 3–0 at MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya, yesterday, a result that lifted the Red Giants into third place in the league standings.
Selangor FC produced an outstanding first-half performance, opening the scoring as early as the 2nd minute when Noor Al Rawabdeh reacted quickest to a loose ball following Melaka FC’s attempt to clear a delivery from Faisal Halim. Alvin Fortes doubled the advantage in the 10th minute with another well taken finish after a pass from Faisal Halim, before Chrigor Moraes added the third in the 13th minute, converting a pass from Noor Al Rawabdeh. That clinical first-half display allowed Selangor FC to take full control of the match. Overall, the team recorded 63 percent possession, attempted 13 shots with seven on target, earned 12 corner kicks and maintained excellent discipline throughout the match without receiving a single yellow card.
Selangor FC Head Coach Christophe Gamel expressed his hope that the team can maintain the same tempo shown in the first half throughout the full 90 minutes, while still being satisfied with the victory.
“We controlled the tempo well and played aggressively according to our plan. However, after scoring three goals, we allowed the game to be played at our opponents’ pace instead of maintaining our own, which is something we need to improve,” said Gamel.
“On the positive side, over the last two matches we have created chances and scored through three different goalscorers, which shows that the team is playing as a unit. There is still room for improvement, especially in terms of consistency, but the most important thing is the three points, which have helped us move up one position in the league. Overall, I am satisfied with the result,” he added.
Next, Selangor FC will face Johor Darul Ta’zim FC in the opening fixture of the second round of the 2025/26 Super League at MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya, on 4 January, with kick-off scheduled for 8:15pm.
Selangor FC management would like to express our sincere appreciation to the 3,065 supporters who turned up at MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya, yesterday to give their full support to the team. See you at the next match!
